Vintage, (1940s) Aquamarine and Diamond Cluster Ring

This is an incredibly pretty vintage ring. Set on a 9ct yellow gold band, this exceptional piece features a stunning ice blue, rectangle shaped aquamarine. The wonderful gemstone is surrounded by a scattering of diamonds, all arranged in a classic Art Deco design. It is hallmarked for 9ct Gold and I would date it to end of the 1940s

This is a statement ring like no other! It would work perfectly as part of a stack, but is substantial enough to make an impact when worn alone.

The name, 'Aquamarine' is derived from the Latin, 'Water of the sea', which is explained by its wispy sky-blue to deep ocean teal colour palette. They were also once thought to be the treasure of mermaids.

Aquamarines are much loved and highly sought after. They are renowned in history for their beautiful colour and were worn as tokens of good luck and fearlessness. They are also the birthstone for March.

The ring is currently a UK size P, which is a USA size 7 3/4 but could be re-sized by your local jeweller. It weighs 2.77g, and is in lovely condition.
