Vintage, 17 inch, 9ct Rolled Gold Detailed Snake necklace, 62.33g

This splendid vintage snake necklace is a rare, and highly sought after item.  Crafted in 9ct rolled gold, it measures  an adjustable 17 inches long and features a thick (7mm wide) snake chain, with an engraved head at one end and a detailed engraved tail at the other.  A secure clam fastener enables the chain to be adjusted to the wearer's preference.

The chain likely derives the 1940s/1950s, and  is an absolute joy to wear.  It is comfortable, substantial, and sits on the neck beautifully adding a very elegant and striking look to your outfit.   It is in excellent condition and weighs 62.33g

Note about Rolled Gold
Rolled Gold was first used in the 19th Century and was comprised of thin sheets of gold fused with a base metal. Having far more gold content than gold plated jewellery, it wont tarnish easily, and will last a lifetime.
