Victorian, 9ct Gold Lovers Knot, Forget me Not Earrings with Turquoise and Diamond

This is such a beautiful and unique pair of Victorian earrings! Crafted from solid 9ct Gold, they comprise a lovers knot, in the centre of which is a stunning flower design with turquoise petals and, a rose cut diamond bud.

Measuring 4cm from the top of the hanger to the bottom of the earrings, and 1.5cm wide, they weigh 3.59g.

According to folklore, forget-me-nots were first mentioned in a story of a man and his sweetheart who were walking beside the River Danube. They saw the beautiful blue flowers on an islet in the middle of the river. The man leapt into the water to get the blue flowers for his love. Although the current was strong, the man crossed the river safely and got the flowers. However, on his trip back he was swept away in the rapids. Before he completely disappeared, he threw the bouquet of forget-me-nots to his love and shouted, 'Forget-me-not!' She wore these flowers on her hair until the day she died and never forgot about him.
