This is an absolutely stunning, antique, double horse shoe ring, hallmarked for 1867.

Crafted in 15ct gold, this very sweet Victorian ring has a sturdy band topped with two, interlocking horse shoes, both set with pretty blue turquoise cabochons.

Despite its age, this ring remains in spectacular antique condition. It sits well, flat on the finger, and is clean and ready to wear.

This ring is a small, UK size K (USA size 5 1/4), but it has a strong, fairly thick band, and could be re-sized up or down. It is hallmarked for 15ct Gold, Birmingham and 1867. A small makers mark (CN) can also be seen engraved into the inside of the band. It weighs 2.37g

Please have a look at the pictures and video and don't hestitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

It is believed that horseshoes were first used as good luck symbols from the 9th century AD although some earlier examples have been discovered in tombs. They were very popular in Victorian times, and were frequently found on jewellery items and trinkets. Jewellery with interlocking horseshoes such as this ring, was often given as love tokens.
