Unusual Vintage, Art Deco, Platinum, Acrostic 'Dearest' Band

This stunning and rather unusual ring is a rare 1920s  acrostic 'DEAREST' ring.  Crafted on a 3 mm Platinum band, it features 7 different gemstones (3 of each, except emeralds of which there are 6),  comprising  diamonds 6 emeralds, amethysts, rubies, sapphire and topaz.    The first letter of each of the different gemstones spells out the word, 'DEAREST'. 

Beautiful engraving appears on both sides of the band, and a little square of platinum is present between the diamonds - im not sure why!

This very romantic vintage ring would have been a sentimental gift given to to a loved one as a token of affection, and to demonstrate that the giver held them as their 'dearest'.   It is not marked but I would date it to the late 1920s.

This band is not sizable and is a UK size P, which is a US size 7 1/2.  It weighs 3.09g.
