Second Payment Saira Stunning, Art Deco, 1930s, Moonstone Fringe Necklace

This wonderful Art Deco, Vintage Moonstone Necklace features 17 moonstone cabochons in their own bezel settings arranged in two rows.  The moonstones shimmer a magnificent silvery blue glow as they catch the light.

The necklace is marked for Silver Gilt and weighs 4.64g.   Its design points to the Art Deco era; 1920's - 1930s.  

When Moonstones were first discovered in Ancient Rome, it was believed that they were formed from solidified beams of moonlight. It was also thought that Diana, the goddess of the moon, could be seen within the stone, and that it would bestow love, wisdom and good fortune upon the wearer.   Other cultures have associated the moonstone with good luck powers, and a symbol of love and passion.
