Art Nouveau, French, 18ct Gold Fancy Filigree Necklace

This fabulous Art Nouveau draperie necklace features 5 highly decorative filigree panels, ornately engraved with unique gold work in the form of flowers which hang at the front. 10 further beautiful fancy filigree links are spread along the entire chain.

Crafted from 18ct gold {marked with the eagles head, the french standard for 18ct Gold, on its clasp) this necklace has taken on a wonderful patina over the years, and remains strong and secure.

As with so many antique pieces, this necklace remains very wearable today and would look elegant for both day and night wear. The necklace measures 18 inches and weighs a comfortable 4.06g.

The wonderful thing about this types of necklaces is that you are unlikely to find two the same; they were made by hand, giving the local jeweller the opportunity show off their original designs and skills.
