Antique, Victorian, Solid Silver and 9ct Gold, Aesthetic Movement Sweetheart Bird locket

This Victorian aesthetic movement locket  is a mesmerising and romantic peice of sweetheart jewellery.  Rich in charm and history, it is crafted from solid silver, and features a beautiful bird, set in slightly raised 9ct gold, sitting in a sycamore tree.  Stunning and symetrical engraving is present above and below the bird, giving the face of the locket wonderful decoration.  The reverse is plain.

The locket weighs 24g and is in excellent condition.  Its insides have been cleaned and glass/plastic covers and rims remain so that photos can be added to its inside straight away.

No hallmarks are present on this locket, but looking at the style and materials used, it can be dated to the mid- late Victorian era

This lovely locket, which measures 5.6cm long (4.1cm without the bale) and 2.1cm wide, would make a romantic gift, or a pretty keepsake to hold the pictures of a loved one close to your heart.
