Fully hallmarked for 18ct Gold, BIrmingham and the year 1917, this very sweet buckle ring features two sparkling old cut diamonds in starburst settings on an wide, solid band. Ornate chasing is present on the buckles themselves and hand engraved starburst points around the diamonds make this ring a really unique find.

Buckle rings were prevalent in the Victorian era, when sentimental jewellery was extremely popular. Buckles on jewellery were given as love tokens. They symbolised the binding love between the giver and the wearer of the ring. They were also regarded as symbols of loyalty and memory.

This is a stunning and classical piece which would fit a UK size K, or US size 5 1/2. It weighs a substantial 6.17g of solid 18ct Gold.
