Antique Suffragette Ring, (Amethyst, Peridot and Diamond), Hallmarked, 18ct Gold, Birmingham 1900

This is a stunningly beautiful antique, suffragette ring in tip top condition and hallmarked for 18ct Gold, Birmingham and the year 1900, making it Edwardian.

Set on a solid, fully hallmarked 18t gold band, this superb antique ring features a large oval amethyst sandwiched between four old cut diamonds and two bright green peridots. The claw set gems are all in super condition, and they catch the light beautifully. (Please see video)

This ring is currently a UK size R (US 8 3/4), but it could easily be re-sized up or down. It weighs a very healthy 4.24g, and it has been cleaned and is ready to wear.

Suffragette jewellery was worn during the Edwardian era to show support for the women’s suffragette movement. There are several stories about the suffragette colours, but the most popular says that their colours spelt out the secret message; Give Women Votes! (Green for ‘Give’, White for ‘Women’ and Violet for ‘Votes’.)
