Antique Edwardian 9ct Gold Curb Chain Bracelet with Turquoise and Seed Pearls and a Heart Padlock Clasp.

This is the most beautiful, antique 9ct gold graduated curb bracelet, adorned with alternating seed pearls and natural turquoise cabochons; 5 gems in total.  This bracelet is not date marked, but given its design and the mateirals used I would date it to the Edwardian era.

The bracelet measures approximately 7mm at its widest point on its face  and 4mm wide at its slimmest link on it end curbs nearest the padlock.

The bracelet closes with a heart padlock clasp which snaps shut and holds securely.   There is also a safety chain. The back of the heart padlock is marked 9ct gold.

This really pretty and classic, antique bracelet  in excellent condition, and a great example of an antique jewellery piece which is still extremly wearable today.   This item has been lightly cleaned and is ready to wear.

Turquoise stones have long been considered a symbol of friendship and have been said to bring good fortune to the wearer.  In Victorian times, it was also the gemstone of the forget-me-not flower, which symbolised remembrance and friendship.  Pearls were believed to signify innocence and faith.
