Antique, Art Deco (1930s), 18ct Gold, Emerald and Diamond Square Ring.

This wonderful Art Deco Ring features a large bezel-set cushion cut emerald, bordered by 16 twinkling old cut diamonds. Decorative details such as scallop edging around the outside of the ring bring a softness to this ring, and remove the hard edges of the square. The head of the ring measures 6mm x 6mm giving great finger coverage as well as an incredible all round sparkle.

The band is not marked, possibly due to a re-size at some point in the ring's life, and it measures a UK size N, which is a US size 6 1/2. It weighs 2.67g.

This is such a fabulous antique style that would work equally well as a timeless engagement ring as it would a statement ring to be worn on that special occasion.

Emeralds have long been known as the symbol of truth and love, so this design has traditionally worked very well as an engagement ring. Indeed, in ancient times, the emerald was considered to be the stone of love, its green color representing vitality and new beginnings.
