Antique 9ct Gold Trombone and Lovers Knot Link Chain: Hallmarked Birmingham 1925

This beautiful antique 9ct gold mixed link chain dates from the early 1900s.  It has two dog clips and  and feaures a sought after floating a T bar as well as trombone and lovers knot links. 

The chain is hallmarked for 9ct Gold on its T-bar as well as its makers marks; JG&S.  There is also a hallmark for Birmingham, 1925 on one of its trombone links.  The dog clips are also original to the chain with makers marks JG&S and 9ct gold on both of them. 

The 9ct gold of this chain is warm with a rosy tint and it sparkles brightly as it catches the light.  It measures a length of 15.25 inches and the trombone links are 3.8mm wide.  It weighs a comfortable 18.74g.

Solid gold chains have been a fashion staple for over a century, and trombone link chains in particular are highly sought after.  Their versitility means they can be worn alone, in a stack with longer or shorter chains.  The floating T bar adds another dimention to the piece.
