Antique, 9ct Gold Albertina Watch Chain Bracelet

This is a magnificently crafted hand made antique Albertina bracelet.  Featuring a stunning and unusual twist T-bar, an engraved heart, wonderful belcher links and  wonderful ornate separators, this one is beautifully unique.

Albertina's were originally used by ladies to connect their pocket watch to their dress.  They were very common in Victorian times, but as we not longer use pocket watches, they are now worn as bracelets.  As was the way with antique, hand made items, these Albertinas were not mass produced and were created by the goldsmith for the wearer, with little additions like charms and hearts, and different links, making many of them completely unique.   In my view, this is what makes them so special.

This piece of history measures approimately 7.5 inches, but the fastner could be attached to a different link, making it about 6 - 6.5 inches.   It weighs an impressive 12.9g and is marked on its clasp as solid 9ct gold.
