Antique, 18ct Gold Emerald Cluster Ring, Hallmarked Birmingham 1863

This unique and very pretty emerald ring is an absolute stunner.  It features 9 beautiful grass green emeralds, (which have been cut to catch the light and shimmer beautifully),  and which are arranged in a flower motif.  Stunningly ornate scrolled shoulders finish off the gallery giving it a very special and rather regal feel.  The ring remains in excellent antique condition, with only surface rubs seen when using a jewellers loupe.  The 18ct Gold band is thick and strong and the gems held securely in place.  

The face of the ring measures 8.5mm x 8.5mm and it weighs a healthy 3.24g. Currently a UK size N, which is a US size 6 1/2, this pretty ring it is clearly and fully hallmarked for 18ct gold, Birmingham and the year 1863.  

This would make a superb engagment ring, as it is a timeless and very wearable style.  Emeralds have long been known as the symbol of truth and love, so this design has traditionally worked very well as an engagement ring.  Indeed, in ancient times, the emerald was  considered to be the stone of love, its green color representing vitality and new beginnings.
