Clearly Hallmarked for 18ct Gold, Birmingham and the year 1913, this is a really wonderful antique buckle ring deriving from the very end of the Edwardian era. It features two bright and lively sparkling diamonds; one old cut and one round cut, both in starburst settings. The 18ct gold band is solid and strong at 7mm wide at the widest part on the face, and 5mm at its thinnest point at the back. The buckle itself is large and the loop and clasp clearly cut, giving good texture and detail to this spectacular ring.

Weighing 4.64g, this is a substantial piece of jewellery, which provides fabulous finger coverage and is an extremely worthy investment.

The ring has a lovely patina and is in excellent condition. This ring is currently a UK size L 1/2, which is a US size 6. A previous re-size is evident on the inside of the ring.

Buckle rings were prevalent in the Victorian era, when sentimental jewellery was extremely popular. Buckles on jewellery were given as love tokens. They symbolised the binding love between the giver and the wearer of the ring. They were also regarded as symbols of loyalty and memory.
