Antique, 15ct Gold Multigem Acrostic, 'ADORE' ring, Hallmarked 15ct Gold, 1897

This is a spectacularly beautiful acrostic ring with bright and lively gems spelling out a secret message. Featuring an amethyst, diamond, ruby, opal and emerald, the first letter of each of these gemstones spell out the word ‘ADORE’.

Set in a warm, slightly rosy 15ct gold, these bright gems are claw set and in excellent condition. The band is currently a UK size N 1/2 (US size 7) but it could be re-sized. It weighs 2.82g. The 15ct gold band is hallmarked for 15ct Gold, Chester and the year 1897.

'Acrostic' rings have always been extremely popular and in Victorian times, were used to express a secret romantic message to their loved one spelt out in gemstones. This one let the wearer know that they were 'adored'.
