Antique, 15ct Gold, Garnet Solitaire Ring

This is a fabulous, antique garnet cabachon ring. It features a large, deep, blood red garnet (6mm diameter) in a bezel setting. The garnet is a stunning hue which changes from a blood red to an orangy rose as the light changes.

The band is is a delightly textured twisty/snake design, and is currently a UK size L 1/2, which is a US 6 and it weighs 1.18g. The shank is not hallmarked, but has been machine tested for 15ct Gold. I would date it to the late Victorian / early Edwardian era,
