Vintage, Platinum Opal and Old Cut Diamond Cluster Ring, Marked 1928

This beautiful showstopper of a ring features a fiery and multicoloured changing circular opal cabochon on a platinum shank.  It is surrounded by 15 antique old cut diamonds.  

When this incredible opal catches the light you can see a vast kaleidoscope of colors; sparks of purple, green and blue sit up at the top of the stone, lit by bright orange fire from its core. 

As you can see from the pictures, the opal looks best when its colour play is on show, when its worn, or against a background. 

This fabulous ring weighs 3.63g, and is currently a UK size Q (US size 8) but it could be re-sized up or down.  The inside of the band has an inscription saying, 4th September 1928.
