Aksel Holmsen, Norwegian, Sterling Gilt, Enamel (Winter Scene) Panel Link Bracelet (1940s)

Aksel Holmsen was a highly esteemed Norwegian silversmith,  renowned for the modernist aesthetic in his pieces. 

This particularly charming bracelet is no exception. On each of its 3 panels, it depicts a different winter scene, all in Holmsen's characteristic blue and pink colour palette.  The panels depict reindeer, a Viking ship, and a sunset over the water.  6 further leaf shaped panels in black enamel curve around the wrist. 

This bracelet is stamped 925S, 'Norne' (a trademark used by Holmsen) and 'N' for Noway. It measures approximately 7 inches long and 1.2cm wide.  It is in excellent condition with a strong clasp which snaps shut firmly. It weighs 11.18g.
