Vintage, Aquamarine and Diamond Cluster Ring, Hallmarked 18ct Gold Birmingham, 1971

This is such a pretty vintage ring. Set on an 18ct yellow gold band with a raised platinum gallery, this exceptional ring features a stunning light blue, round cut aquamarine. The beautifully coloured gemstone measures approx 4mm x 4mm and is surrounded by a halo of 8 very sparkly diamonds. It is fully hallmarked for 18ct Gold, Birmingham, and the year 1971

This is a real statement ring; it works perfectly as part of a stack, or worn alone.

The name, 'Aquamarine' is derived from the Latin, 'Water of the sea', which is explained by its wispy sky-blue to deep ocean teal colour palette. They were also once thought to be the treasure of mermaids.

Aquamarines are much loved and highly sought after. They are renowned in history for their beautiful colour and were worn as tokens of good luck and fearlessness. They are also the birthstone for March.

The ring is currently a UK size L, which is a USA size 5 1/2, but could be re-sized by your local jeweller. It weighs 3.15g, and is in lovely condition.
