Vintage, 9ct Gold, Romantic Heart Padlock, Fancy Link Bracelet, Hallmarked 9ct Gold (12.7g)

This is such a pretty and unique Victorian Heart bracelet. Crafted in solid 9ct yellow gold, it features on one side alternating engraved and plain links. On the ohter side, the hollow links are all plain. The Victorians called bracelets decorated like this "Night & Day” bracelets as they were reversible and could be worn with for night or daywear. The plain side was worn during the day and then it was turned over to its chased side for evening wear. The fashion for these bracelets has continued from Victorian times right through to the 21st Century where they remain a classic and iconic piece for many women today.

A beautifully engraved puffy heart padlock, which closes securely, acts as the clasp to this bracelet, and is secured by a strong safety chain.
The bracelet is marked for 9ct gold on its clasp, and on the back of the puffy heart padlock. It measures approximately 7.5 inches long and is a good weight of 12.7g. It also has its own safely chain.
