Antique, Sterling Silver, Fede/Gimmel Opening Ring with Heart

This is a very special Fede ring!  Crafted from solid Silver, it features two detailed hands, joined together in union, which open to reveal a small heart at the centre of three interlocking rings.

The meaning of 'Fede' is best described from the Latin phrase, “mani in fede,” which means hands clasped in faith'. It was symbolic of faith and trust - and was used as an engagement ring. In celtic areas, the same ring was called a Gimmel (twins) ring.
 
This ring is a UK size L, which is a US size 5 3/4.  It weighs 4.16g and is in excellent condition.  I could clean it up a bit more, but some people dont like polished silver, so i have left it as i found it! I can clean it up more if you require.
