This beautiful vintage 9ct gold mariner link bracelet displays a crisp 9ct hallmark on its dog clip, as well as its clasps, and is a remarkable vintage piece; the perfect solid gold bracelet. This particular piece features more highly decorative links than the usual mariner link - with a little central star engraved in the centre of each anchor link, faceted sides and held together by flexible faceted links.
Buttery and smooth, its links are all completely secure and free of dinks. It measures 7.5 inches long, 5mm wide, and has a healthy weight of 7.82g.
Solid gold mariner or anchor link chains/bracelets have been a fashion staple for years, and are highly sought after. Their versitility means they can be worn alone, or as part of a bracelet stack.
It was Naval Lieutenant Samuel Brown and his cousin Samuel Lenox who invented the anchor chain at the turn of the 19th century and once its design was perfected, it became the chain used by the Royal Navy and that of many huge ocean liners. It has since inspired jewellery designers across the globe, and remains a classic and elegant style of chain.
This braelet is in excellent condition. The dog clip has ever so slightly lost its spring, but it still holds the bracelet securely on your wrist.
