Vintage, 18ct Gold Ruby and Rose cut Diamond Ring, Hallmarked, London 1973

This is such a pretty vintage ruby and diamond ring.   It features a buttery 18ct gold band with a central oval cut ruby, surrounded by 10 round cut diamonds.   The ring remains in excellent vintage condition, and is fully hallmarked for 18ct Gold, London and the date, 1973.

This is a hardy ring; the  claw set stones are in good order, and it could be worn every day, making it an excellent choice for an engagement ring, or worn as part of a pretty stack. 

The ring is currently a UK size N 3/4, which is a US size 7. It weighs 2.79g.

Through the ages, the ruby has represented purity, and is associated with love, passion, and power.  These precious gems have been  worn by royalty throughout human history, and were believed to protect ancient warriors in battle. They have also been thought to act as a talisman for peace and are belived to offer a promise of wisdom and health for the holder.
