Vintage, 18ct Gold Ruby and Diamond Witches Heart Portuguese Good luck/Protection Pendant

This is a wonderful piece of jewellery.  Crafted in solid 18ct gold (not marked but tested) this lovely heart disc (in the much sought after 'witches heart shape' which represented good luck and protection,  features the Portuguese phrase, 'Deus te guie' which translates as 'God guide you'.   

In the right hand corner, a beautifully engraved bird in flight carries a 6 petal flower, possibly symbolising a poppy (which represents peace), with a diamond at its centre.  Its reverse is plain.

This lovely good luck pendant/talisman is not marked but I would date it to the late 1930s.  It measures 3cm x 1.9cm and weighs 1.26g.
