Vintage, 15ct Gold Ruby Eyed, Rose Cut Diamond encrusted Skull Ring, 3.79g

This vintage memento mori skull ring is crafted from solid 15ct gold. The incredible skull features two great sized pinky/red ruby eyes set into a silver face encrusted with rose cut diamonds.  These antique diamonds have been cut by hand and they sparkle beautifully even in the lowest light.   

There are no hallmarks on the ring but i would expect it is a conversion,  having served as a stick pin or brooch, before being converted to a ring.

Memento Mori jewellery, which translates from Latin as “Remember you must die'" has been celebrated since the 17th century, and was worn in the Victorian era as a reminder of the inevitability of death and the need to live life to the fullest. 

Currently a UK size O which is a US size 7 1/4, the face of this ring measures  1.6cm x 1.3cm, so  has great finger coverage.  It weighs a comfortable 3.79g.

Condition:  Overall condition is very good. but there is a diamond missing under the right eye which can be noticed under a loupe.  I am in the process of getting this fixed but until i do, i have reduced the price incase you want to buy as-is.
