Victorian, Solid 18ct Gold Locket / Pendant with Baby Blue Enamel Decoration

This adorable Victorian, locket is such a special find. It features baby blue enamel in a rope entwining design. The intricate detail on this locket continues on the back and includes includes lovely swirls and what is meant to be leaves or foilage.

Jewellery symbolism was very popular in the Victorian era and I believe this locket will have been given to someone as a token, representing love and togetherness.

There are no hallmarks but the locket has been liquid tested for solid 18ct gold and its design points to the late Victorian ear.

This special antique locket still has its original frame and cover on the left hand side, for holding a photo or a keepsake of a loved one. It measures 1.3cm wide x 1.7cm long and weighs 2.90g. It remains in extremely good condition with only age related wear seen under a loupe; Hanging around your neck or wrist on a pretty chain, none of these details will be noticed.
