Antique, Rolled Gold filigree link Long Guard, 52 inches, 21.87g

This superb fancy link chain dates to the late 19th century, and features stunning filigree links (flat oval shapes, pierced to display an ornate engravings at its centre). These fancy links are connected by stretches of tight oval links. Its design points to french origin.

At the very wearable length of 52 inches, this antique chain can be worn once, twice, or even thrice around the neck. It measures approximately 5mm wide at its widest point and the whole chain weighs 21.87g.  It is gold filled and it does bear some signs of wear through its long history, but only if looked at thorugh a loupe.  It has its makers mark on its dog clip.
