Stunning, Art Deco, Sterling Silver, Double Layer Moonstone Fringe Necklace

This wonderful Art Deco, Vintage Moonstone Necklace features 24 moonstone cabachons arranged in to two very pretty layers in their own bezel settings. With a collective weight of approximately 25ct, these moonstones shimmer a magnificent blue glow on their 19 inch sterling silver chain.

The necklace is marked for Sterling silver on its clasp, and its design points to the Art Deco era. It weighs 8.63g and is offered in excellent vintage condition.

When Moonstones were first discovered in Ancient Rome, it was believed that they were formed from solidified beams of moonlight. It was also thought that Diana, the goddess of the moon, could be seen within the stone, and that it would bestow love, wisdom and good fortune upon the wearer. Other cultures have associated the moonstone with good luck powers, and a symbol of love and passion.
