VIntage, Gold on Sterling Silver Buckle and 'Forget me Not' Bangle, Hallmarked 1954

 This is a stunning and very wearable Gold on Sterling Silver Vintage Bangle

This hinged cuff bangle features a wonderful Buckle to its front, and surrounding it, forget me not flowers.  This is Victorian romantic symbolism at its best; buckles on jewellery were given as love tokens.  They symbolised the binding love between the giver and the wearer of the buckle.  They were also regarded as symbols of loyalty and memory.  Forget me not flowers spoke to the wearer, asking that they did not forget a special someone.

This bangle will fit a 6 -7 inch wrist, and is approximately 1cm wide all the way round.  It has a firm clasp which clicks shut securely. It also comes with its original safety chain, and weighs a very healthy 15.48g.  It is hallmarked for Sterling Silver as well as 'gold plated' and the year, 1954.

This is a really fabulous piece of history which would make a great statement on it's own or as part of a wrist stack! It remains in excellent condition, despite its years.
