Dating back to the late 19th Century, this wonderful crooked heart, (also known as a luckenbooth brooch, or a 'Witches heart') was once used as talismen to ward off evil spirits. Later, these type of brooches were given as love tokens; the receiver was said to have captured another's heart and was said to have 'bewitched' that someone.  

This brooch is in excellent antique condition.  All stones are intact and set well.  It measures approximately 1.7cm x 2cm and weighs 2.32g.
