Rare, Antique, 9ct Rosy Gold and Garnet Puffy Heart Padlock Clasp/Pendant (6.59g)

Set in warm and rosy 9ct gold, this rare and substantial antique padlock pendant is in full working order and snaps shut nicely.  It is beautifully and ornately engraved on its front and back and features a blood red garnet cabochon at its centre.

Antique and vintage jewellery is heavy in symbolism and such padlocks were usually given and worn as love tokens.   

This is a great sized padlock, measuring 3.7cm in length including the clasp and 2cm wide.  It remains in splendid condition with only some minor wear to a small area of the engraving (to be expected with a padlock of this age), but which is not really noticable unless under close inspection.  It is a good weight of 6.59g.

This beautiful padlock's versitility means you can either slip it onto a split ring or charm bracelet, or wear as a pendant on a chain (see pictures)
