Diamond Paste Earrings (1920s) Solid Sterling Silver and 9ct Gold
Diamond Paste Earrings (1920s) Solid Sterling Silver and 9ct Gold
This is an extremely pretty pair of original Art Deco diamond paste drop earrings.
Each earring comprises five diamond paste spacers which drop down to a large pear shaped paste stone, and which are surrounded by a full floral paste border. Its hard to believe that these sparkling paste stones, which remain in perfect condition, are not real diamonds, as they catch the light so beautifully.
Weighing a combined weight of 7.8g, each earring measures 3.3cm from top to bottom (excluding the hang) and 1.2cm wide. The materials are, as always with these types of antique paste earrings; solid sterling silver holding the paste together, and 9ct gold clasps.
This unique pair of earrings would be perfect for a special or glamorous occasion, to add that touch of unique vintage glamour and sparkle to your outfit. This is your chance to own and wear some original antique jewellery at a reasonable cost. '
Paste' is glass that has been hand cut and polished to mimick a gemstone. It was introduced in the 18th Century for those who could not afford to wear real gems but wanted to shimmer with the best of them!
