Large, Antique, Victorian 15ct Gold, Amethyst and Seed Pearl Cluster Pendant

This is a magnificent pendant. Crafted in 15ct gold (marked 15ct Gold on its reverse) it features a shimmering amethyst of approximately 15ct, surrounded by 28 lustrious and well matched seed pearls.

This stunning piece of history, dated to the late 1800s measures 2m x 2.7cm. It weighs 5.70g

Amethysts have been viewed through the ages as a stone of peace. Some believe the calming presence of the stone produces soothing dreams. Amethysts have also been thought to have protective, healing, and purifying powers.

This fabulous and regal pendant is in good antique condition and is ready to wear on a gold chain. The amethyst itself has a light surface crack at its centre, where at some point in its 100 + year history, it may have hit against something, but it remains completely secure in its setting and the crack is only really noticible when under a loupe. You canot see it when its worn. Pleae have a look at the pictures and video, as i have tried to highlight it as much as i can under magnification. I have also taken this into consideration when pricing this piece.

NB: Great care should always be taken with antique and vintage jewellery and seed pearls in particular should not be worn while exercising, sleeping or showering. They should not come into contact with water, oils and creams.
