Continental, 14ct Gold Blue Topaz Ring with incredible border

This beautiful vintage ring features a stunning blue topaz at its centre. It is beautifully translucent and its cut picks up the light beautifully. Its border lifts the stone above the finger, and provides some very unique and original gold work in the form of beaded squares and circles. I've never seen another ring quite like this one!

Measuring a UK size P, which is a US size 7 3/4, the ring's band is marked for 14ct gold, which leads me to believe that this ring is continental, and likely Italian.

Deriving from the Sanskrit ‘tapaz’ (fire) or from the Greek ‘topazios, Blue Topaz is the birthstone for December, It is a relatively hard gemstone, measuring 8 on the Mohs scale, making it durable and safe to wear daily.

It has been said that topaz possesses calming properties, and is a good choice for those seeking emotional balance, compassion, and inner peace.
