This exquisite Art Deco moonstone and enamel cluster ring is set on an 18ct gold band, marked for 18ct, London and the year 1927. The dreamy cabachon moonstone exhibits wonderful adularescence and glows a super blue/grey hue as it catches the light from different angles. It is nestled between four golden hearts, and a smart black enamel, which reaches down to the shoulders of the ring.
This beautiful ring, which will have likely been worn as a mourning ring is a UK size L 1/2, which is a US size 6. The head measures 1.2cm x 9mm. It remains in excellent condition with just a little enamel loss, as one would expect with a ring of this age. As you can see from the pictures, this is hardly noticeable without a loupe.
Please have a look at the pictures and videos, and dont hesitate to get in touch if you require any further information.
When Moonstones were first discovered in Ancient Rome, it was believed that they were formed from solidified beams of moonlight. It was also thought that Diana, the goddess of the moon, could be seen within the stone, and that it would bestow love, wisdom and good fortune upon the wearer. Other cultures have associated the moonstone with good luck powers, and a symbol of love and passion.
