Antique Victorian, Silver and Diamond Arrow Brooch/Pendant

This wonderful Antique 'Jabot Pin' Brooch is an extraordinary piece. Crafted in silver and 9ct Gold and comprising 15 rose cut diamonds over its head and tail, this is a multifunctional piece, now converted to work as both a brooch, and a pendant.

A 'jabot' pin is a brooch with a bejeweled motif at either end. When it is pinned to a garment, only the decorative ends are seen. As with this one, one end is removable and clicks into place to complete the pin. Originally, jabot pins were used to secure the frill 'jabot' that men wore on the front of their shirts. They enjoyed a revival in popularity again in the Art Deco era.

This arrow measures 5cm long including its bale and 9mm wide at the widest part of its tail. It comprises 15 rose cut diamonds on a silver body. It weighs 1.72g
