Antique, Victorian 18ct Ruby And Diamond Gypsy Ring, Hallmarked for 18ct Gold, London 1896

This is an absolutely wonderful example of an antique (Victorian) gypsy starburst ring.  It has a wonderfully strong 18ct gold shank, fully hallmarked for 18ct Gold, London and the date 1896.  The gallery features a central sparkling old cut diamond, and two bright rubies on either side, all framed in a starburst setting.

The face of this gorgeous antique classic measures 7mm at its widest point and it weighs a very healthy 3.79 grams.   It is a UK size L (re-sizable) which is a US size 5 3/4.

Given that this very special ring is more than 120 years old, it remains in incredible condition. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready to wear!

Historical note: In the 17th and 18th centuries, rubies and diamonds were often paired together as a symbol of eternal love and enduring strength.
