Antique, Victorian, 18ct Gold, Engraved (Orange Blossom) Wedding /Stacking Band, Hallmarked, Birmingham, 1897

Crafted from a bright and buttery 18ct Gold, this stunning Victorian wedding band is a wonderful find.   It features beautiful and intricate engravings of ivy (a romantic symbolism in the Victorian/Edwardian era, which translated as 'cling to thee') and orange blossom, which itself also carries a romantic sentiment;  the blossom symbolized prosperity, and its color, innocence.  They became popular after Queen Victoria wore the blossoms in her floral wedding crown; symbolising that her marriage to Albert would be fruitful for Britain.   These incredible engravings cover the entire ring, all around the band, so that it can be worn in any position.

Fully hallmarked for 18ct Gold, Birmingham and the year 1897, this Victorian band sits very comfortably on the finger and currently meaures a UK size O 3/4, which is a US size 7 1/2.  It is 6mm wide, and weighs a very healthy 3.25g!
