This is a fabulous antique Victorian double snake ring which features two entwined serpents (which represent eternal, everlasting love, loyalty and friendship) with sparkling diamond eyes. These original antique rings are getting more and more difficult to find, especially in such good condition as this one.
The gallery measures 9mm at its widest point and 5mm at the very back of the band. The wide buttery 18ct gold band is fully hallmrked for 18ct Gold, Birmingham and the year 1882.
This ring sits flat and comfortably on the finger and is fully hallmarked for 18ct Gold, Birmingham and 1882. It weighs a heavy 6.59g and measures 8is currently a UK size N (US size 6 1/2) but could be re-sized.
Queen Victoria was an enthusiast of snake jewellery and had several pieces in her personal collection, notably her snake engagement ring from Prince Albert, which symbolised his everlasting love.
