Antique, Victorian, 18ct Gold Almandine Garnet and Emerald Ring

This is an extremely pretty, antique 18ct gold almandine garnet and emerald ring from the Victorian era.  It features a large central almandine garnet (approximately 5mm x 5mm) and which is flanked by four deep green emeralds on each side, and an almandine garnet on each side of those.  The gems are beautifully displayed in a symmetrical linear design and have been cut and polished to allow the gems to catch the light.

The band is crafted from 18ct gold and I believe it is a more modern band, probably replaced following a re-size or repair.  As a result, the band no longer carries its original hallmarks, but the design and materials used place this ring to the late Victorian era.   
 
This ring is in excellent condition with only light surface rub marks that are consistent with age. It is a  UK M (US size 6 1/2) and it weighs 1.56g.
