Antique, French Silver and Rose Gold, 16.5 inch Filigree chain, 12.50g

Crafted from mixed metals; solid silver and Rose gold vermeil, this stunning fancy link chain features incredibly decorated filigree links with a diamond shaped rosy gold piece at the centre of each link. A dog clip and large silver bolt ring fasten each end.

This exquisite chain, which dates to the 1870s measures 16.5 inches, and weighs 12.50g. Each link measures 6mm wide and one of its closed jumprings is marked with a boar, which is the French hallmark for silver. The chain is not dated but its style and decoration all point to the late 1800s, early 1900s.

These types of chains are usually derived from Long Guards or watch chains, which have been a fashion staple for over a century, and at this slightly shorter length, they are now highly sought after. Their versitility means they look great worn alone or in a stack with longer or shorter chains.
