Antique Edwardian 9ct Gold Suffragette Bracelet with Peridot, Amethyst and Pearl and a Heart Padlock

This is the most beautiful, antique 9ct gold curb bracelet with heart padlock, adorned with alternating Seed Pearls, Peridot and Amethyst. It is marked for 9ct gold on its end link and on the padlock, and given its design and the mateirals used, I would date it to the Edwardian era.

The bracelet will fit approximately a 7 1/2-8 inch wrist, and measures 9mm at its widest point across the link. It fastens with the help of its accompanying heart padlock clasp which snaps shut and holds securely, and is attached to the bracelet by a safety chain.

This really pretty and classic antique bracelet remains in excellent condition, and is a great example of an antique jewellery piece which is still extremly wearable today. This item has been lightly cleaned and is ready to wear.

Jewellery which combined peridot, amethyst and diamonds or pearls together was often referred to as suffragette jewellery, as it was in these colours that the suffragettes were thought to communicate to each other that they supported the suffragette movement. (Green for 'Give', White for 'Women' and Violet for 'Vote')
