Antique, 9ct Gold Locket / Pendant with Baby Blue and White Enamel Decoration

This adorable antique, locket is such a special find.  Crafted from 9ct gold (front and back, it features baby blue and white patterened enamel in a geometrical design.    The intricate detail on this locket continues on the back with ornate engravings of swirls and what is meant to be leaves or foilage.

Jewellery symbolism was very popular in the Victorian era and the hair decoration inside this locket demonstrates that this locket will have been given to someone as a token of love and remembrance.

There are no hallmarks but the locket has been tested for 9ct gold and its design points to the late Victorian era.

This special antique locket still has its original frames and covers.  Both sides still contain ornate hair work, but these can be removed and replaced with photos of your own.  This locket currently measures 1.3cm wide x 1.6cm and it weighs 3.53g.  It remains in extremely good condition with only age related and surface wear to some of the enamel.  Hanging around your neck or wrist on a pretty chain, this age related wear will not be noticed.
