Antique, 18ct Gold Lovers Knot Ring, 4.13g

This is really fabulous 18ct Gold, lover's knot ring. It features two interconnecting lovers knots entwined together over the face of the ring, with split shoulders leading down to a wide, solid band. 

This romantic ring remains in excellent condition and although it is rubbed, you can just make out the mark for 18ct Gold.  I would date it to the early Edwardian ear.   The face measures 9mm, and 3mm right at the back of the band.  It weighs a healthy 4.13g and is a UK size N which is a US size 7.

Antique lover's knot rings date back to the early 20th century and as they become rarer, they are very sought after.  They are steeped in sentimentality with the knot symbolising two people entwined for eternity; hence why they are often given as romantic tokens or as eternity rings.
