This is such a pretty snake ring.  Crafted in rich and buttery 9ct gold, the band displays clear hallmarks for 9ct Gold, London,  and the year 1987.  It also bears the makers mark; SGG.  

The band coils around the finger comfortably and is currently a UK size N, which is a US size 6 3/4. It weighs 1.8g.  

A fashionable Victorian symbol of eternal love,  snakes have maintained their popularity since Prince Albert gave Queen Victoria a snake engagement ring in the 1800s. Since that time, snakes on jewellery have symbolized eternity and everlasting love.
