9ct Gold Lucky Pig Charm/Pendant, with Horse shoe

This is such a charming antique lucky pig charm (with a horse shoe and lucky shamrock attached, for that extra bit of luck when you need it!)

Crafted from 9ct gold, both the horse shoe and pig are marked for 9ct gold, and the horse shoe also bears a chester assay mark. No date marks remain on either object, but i would date them to the very end of the Victorian era/ start of the Edwardian era. The pig is 18 x 6mm and the horse shoe measures 10 x 11mm. Together, they weigh 1.21g.

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries the pig was a popular lucky charm in parts of Europe. They also represented wealth, prosperity and overall good fortune!
