9ct Gold, Georgian, Bristol Blue Glass and Pearl Star Navette Ring

This magnificent Georgian Ring is crafted in 9ct Gold.  The Navette shaped head features a stunning Bristol Blue glass, at the centre of which sits an 8 point pearl star. The enamel is surrounded by a beautifully engraved gold border.

The inside of the ring head is engraved with a name: 'Sarah Pooke' which indicates that this piece may have been created in mourning.

This wonderful piece of history measures 2.5cm x 1.3cm and weighs 3.77g.  It is a Uk size M 1/2, which is a US size 6 1/2.

A note about Bristol Blue glass

Often referred to as "cobalt blue glass", Bristol Blue glassware is made mixing cobalt with molten glass to produce the distinctive and magical blue colour.  (Have a look at the video and look at the beautiful blues which are lit up inside the glass when the sun hits it)  Finally, what makes objects made from this glass  so special, is that the process is done entirely by hand.  A true work of art!
