9ct Gold, Antique, Kidney Bean Lucky Charm, with Lucky Shamrock, Hallmarked Chester, 1914

This is a beautiful and rare 9ct gold lucky bean charm which features some additional luck via its stunning seed pearl three leaf clover (shamrock) flower on its front.

Measuring approximately 1.7 cm x 0.8 cm wide, it weighs 0.89g.

This is fully hallmarked for Chester (rubbed but distinguisable) 9ct Gold, the year 1914.  It also displays its makers mark, Henry Griffith and Sons (A family run business originally trading from Chester and running between 1850 and 1965

This wonderful antique charm which would look wonderful on a chain around the neck or attached to a charm bracelet.

Many hundreds of years ago, it was believed that carrying a shamrock was lucky and even thwarted evil spirits.  It was said that St Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity, with each leaf representing the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
